You work as our new Business Consultant from home, at our office in Goes or on location. You will become part of a fast-growing, social family business with great international ambitions.

Your mission

You ensure that our dealers are maximally profitable.

Independent dealers in Europe, Africa and the Middle East market our high-quality machines in their own areas. As a manufacturer (OEM), we guide and support them in the growth of their business. What is the best location for a new establishment? Who will be their customers? And who are the competitors? You are a connector, trusted partner and strategist at the same time. You work purposefully on a win-win situation for us and our entrepreneurs.

You do that by:

  • especially during the first year, immersing yourself in the background, environment and history of the dealers in your portfolio. You discover possible risks, challenges and what concerns them on a daily basis. You also take the time to visit them. This is how you build a solid, sustainable and professional relationship with Dealer Principals;
  • Looking at their business operations together with the dealers. Sales, Finance, HR, Marketing: after your research, no department will hold any secrets for you. In line with our culture of continuous improvement through evaluation, you turn our entrepreneurs into true market leaders;
  • reporting back all your business findings to our organization. You discuss expectations and opportunities. And you create overview. This results in an improvement plan that leads to higher efficiency, effectiveness, performance and profit. As the project leader of these improvement plans, you work closely with our dealer teams, internal subject matter experts and other stakeholders;
  • making agreements with our dealers about, for example, the price and delivery time of new machines, taking into account challenges such as storage or possible shortages of raw materials. You are always looking for ways to further optimize the supply chain from our factory to our end users;
  • build and maintain a lasting relationship with our dealers. You are available 24/7 for questions from our dealers and do not rest until concerns or problems have been clarified and resolved.

About Vermeer

Team

You will be part of a team of a total of 4 Business consultants who work on location at our dealers or hybrid. Are you at our office in Goes? Then you work together with more than 100 colleagues with no less than 10 different nationalities. Here it is buzzing with ambition, inspiration, friendships and personal experiences that we like to share to help each other move forward.

Wat do you need:

  • 10 years of experience related to product safety engineering; or equivalent training and experience with strong emphasis on product safety engineering; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of experience in effectively managing people, processes, and development projects.
  • Willing to travel 20% of your time on a yearly base.

In addition, you bring:

  • A Bachelor Degree, for example Business Management, Commercial Economics or International Business and Languages. Have you completed a technical higher vocational education? We would also be happy to talk to you.
  • At least 6 years of experience as a Strategic Business Consultant or in a similar position, such as Development Manager or General Manager.
  • Experience with independently maintaining and expanding a distribution network.
  • The willingness to travel up to 50% of your working hours to our dealers. The other hours you work from home or at the office. You determine your agenda together with the team and the dealerships assigned to you.
  • A great sense of responsibility with perseverance to achieve (financial) goals and thus be of great value to both our dealers and our own organization.
